  • To meet Florida’s licensing standards, you must have:

    • A combination of relevant experience, 14 hours of approved training, and a successful pass of a state-approved exam.

    • Experience can be gained through fieldwork or a combination of fieldwork and college credits.

  • No. The course is designed to prepare students for the state licensing exam. Exams are offered on-site upon completion of the basic mold certification course. After successfully passing the state exam, you will then have to submit a state licensing application with the Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR).

    Professionals that meet the state requirements are permitted to challenge the exam without taking the course.

  • Our Basic Mold Certification course is a standards-based training of common procedures and uniform industry methods designed for Florida state professionals that possess the prerequisite experience to prepare and sit for the Florida state license exam. There are several states that require a state license to perform the work and may require prerequisites and a licensing exam (Ex. FL, TX, LA, NY, DC). We advocate that you research your state requirements at your Department of Labor or Department of Business Regulation.  A combination of the Basic and the Advanced curriculum can be customized for out of state professionals looking to break into the trade.  Out of state professionals that wish to become proficient in the trade can visit our Advanced Program link and contact us directly to discuss in further detail.

  • Yes, it is required to obtain 14 CEU credits biennially to maintain certification. AMMA Certified professionals can take the basic refresher course to receive all 14 credits or take other offerings through the organization. State licensed practitioners can fulfill their state licensing CEU requirements from other state approved providers depending on their state requirements.
